Best and Worst Small Cars for Safety

What are the best and worst small cars to own when it comes to safety? Well there are a lot of various tests and data to consider. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has a small overlap crash test, which tests the effects of a collision with a pole or another vehicle. It crashes the vehicle into a barrier that is five 5 tall at 40 mph.

The cars that faired the best included the 2014 Toyota Scion tC, the 2013 Hyundai Elantra, the 2013 Dodge Dart, the 2013 Ford Focus, and the 2013 Honda Civic.

Cars that didn’t do so well in the tests include the 2013 Volkswagen Beetle, the 2013 Chevrolet Sonic, and the 2014 Kia Forte.

Of course an automobile’s safety record will have an impact on the insurance premiums for that car. If you would like a quote on your auto insurance, contact us at Prutting Insurance Group off Scottsdale, Arizona. We are pleased to serve the entire Greater Phoenix Arizona area.
